The best-value course I played this year is Summit CC in Jinan. In early September the green fee was around ₩30,000 per person, and some tee times allow self-caddying, so a group of four pays roughly ₩200,000 total for green fees and cart — less than a single green fee near Seoul. It seemed too cheap to be true, so I played four rounds over three days (Sept 3–5). The verdict: genuinely satisfying, and it should be even better once the autumn colours come in. Fairways are narrow overall. The M course is a little wider; the K course has several carries and tight corridors and plays hard — if you shoot around 100, bring plenty of balls. Tee boxes were about half grass, half mat, and the grass tees were in good shape. The standout is the food. Four cans of beer for ₩20,000, four grilled corn for ₩4,000, a draft beer for ₩8,000, and a solid breakfast or lunch for about ₩13,000 a head. Minor gripes: you pay extra for ice for your cooler bag, and the hinoki bath was not filled during my visit. For a course that runs rounds from dawn to night, divot and fairway upkeep was impressively good. The greens, though, had a lot of sand and were a weak point. It is 20 minutes by car from Jeonju Station, so staying in Jeonju works well — and Jinan is highland, so it stays cooler in summer. Local tip: the area is known for sundubu (soft tofu).
